GT BEETLE

Limited edition of 2500 cars. The only model to officially  carry the name 'BEETLE' on the engine lid badge. The GT Beetle was to celebrate the importing of the 300,000th Beetle to Britain on 15th Dec 1972. It was a 1300 Beetle with extras, it cost just £19 more then the standard 1300 Beetle (£978).

In europe they were called the 1300S. Standard features include 1600cc engine, disc front brakes, big 'elephant foot' tailights (80 sq.inches of winker, stoplight, and reflector), padded dashboard, sports wheels, unique gearstick and wooden gear knob, kamei tunnnel tray and three point seats as fitted to the 1303's at that time......Only ever available in a choice of three colours Apple Green (1,000), Tomato Red (250) or Lemon Yellow (1,250).
